`The two most important days in your life are: the day you were born and the day you find out why’ – Mark Twain
As we start the new year, it is time to stop and reflect on our why. Why do we do what we do? What motivates us to get up every morning and live? Purpose is essential to finding happiness in life.
This year I moved one step closer towards creating the life I want to live. I took a risk in starting my online business in an area I feel passionate about. Holistic wellbeing.
As we move away from 2021, it was a year filled with change that challenged us on every level – physically, mentally, emotionally, financially, socially, and of course spiritually. It was a year that many would love to forget.
The Year Ahead
As we start the New Year, 2022 will be another year of change that will continue to test us physically, mentally, and spiritually. However, we will overcome these challenges when we understand our purpose and core values. It is important that we continue to form human connections, forgive, and grow in order to celebrate life, happiness, and freedom.
I’ve written about the importance of embracing change in the blog, and it is so true. While it is often portrayed in a negative light, change can also bring positivity to our lives.
Setting New Year Intentions
While the term new year resolutions are still used broadly, I like to think of these as intentions. Resolutions end to be wishes or things you would like to have. Intentions are more solid; they are things you plan to do.
Your new year intentions may not stay the same throughout the year either, they will change as you change. You can modify them as your needs change. When setting your intentions, it is important to set ones that are easily achievable, match your values and contribute to your happiness and life goals.
Of course, setting intentions is one thing – achieving them is another. That is why it is good to hold yourself accountable. You don’t have to publish them for the world to see but sharing them with a select group of trusting friends will help you remain accountable.
My new year intentions for 2022 have been set.
- Celebrate life daily
- Pursue what makes me happy
- Build my online business
- Declutter the deadwood
- Form stronger spiritual connections
- Continue to learn and grow
Within these intentions I have an action plan for how I will achieve these through the year.
What new year intentions will you set for 2022? I’d love to hear them.
Thank you for starting on this journey with me to Live a Wholistic Life, your way. I would like to wish you and your families a happy new year.
